"Forgiven" by Randy J. Meyer

Randy Meyer is a neighbor of mine. He farms and he's also an artist. He lives on a farm between Canby, MN and Gary, SD. and has a B. A. degree in art and sociology. His art work has been on exhibit at the William Whipple Gallery, Southwest State University, Marshall, MN, the Barn Theatre & Gallery, Willmar, MN, and at the Arts on Broadway Gallery, Watertown, SD where I won the "People's Choice" award. Recently Randy's original painting "Forgiven" won the "Best of Show" and "People's Choice" awards at the Heritage Religious Art Competition in Starbuck, MN.
Randy's work falls into two categories:
  • his inspirational art work represented by his print called "Forgiven." It depicts Christ's suffering on the cross. We have this print available for purchase.
  • his whimsical portraits that reflect his love of people and their expressive emotions which are reflected in his large, bold artistic style. Through this style he's able to capture more than a mere likeness of the person being portrayed as the style expresses the character, personality and fresh emotion of the moment.

"Forgiven" has been purchased for placing in many different locations. People have given it as a gift to friends and family members. It has  been gifted to nursing homes where residents found it a peaceful print and to churches. Mortuaries have also purchased it to hang in their visitation rooms. Plus, we've been surprised by the number of individuals who have purchased it for their own homes.

Randy says many of his paintings reflect an inspirational Christian art theme. The paintings allow him to share with others the reassurance and comfort in the Christian faith and the gifts the Lord has provided him and his family. He is forever grateful for his blessings and hope that you also find comfort and appreciation of the Savior in my Christian paintings.
"Forgiven" is a deeply moving and inspirational rendition of Christ's suffering and agony on the cross. In this painting, the true meaning of God's purpose for his son is completed in the last moments of Christ's earthly life. The dark tones symbolize sin and death while white highlights represent God's love and forgiveness of sins for all people.

Julie Antony, member of Good Shepherd Lutheran, Burnsville, MN: "We intended to hang this framed print only for the Lenten season but so many in the congregation requested that it be left up because it gave them a feeling of great comfort in their faith."

Elizabeth Pemble, Janesville, MN: "I have 'Forgiven' hanging in my dining room to give me a daily visual reminder of the ultimate sacrifice. No matter how my day is going I can glance at the wall and feel assured of my Savior's love and guidance."
