| Michael Sieve says, "As a hunter, and as an
artist, I have thought about and imagined [great hunting stories and wished I could have
been there] many times. Now, in the Glory Days series, I will attempt to recreate
with paint the last moments in the lives of four special deer taken by four skillful (and
possibly a bit lucky) hunters of four very memorable hunts. These are, of
course the largest Boone & Crockett Typical and Non-Typical, and the largest Pope
& Young Typical and Non-whitetail deer ever harvested. I have always enjoyed traveling to distant places to do research for my paintings. It is not just for fun, rather it is critical for me to do the kind of work I want to do. But I must admit going to the places where these deer lived and died was extra special for me. These otherwise ordinary places are like hallowed ground to me, both sacred and historic. In these paintings I will attempt to portray, not just the deer, but also the land that produced them. In short, I want to capture four special moments in time." These are the prints in the series:

parts, but this one was exceptional enough to have drawn the attention of many local
