"Whenever I got a chance I stopped by to see what was going on." In this intriguing new image a couple of kids carefully watch as Tim puts some finishing touches on his car. Other drivers mill around, making sure their cars are tuned and ready to go. Even the fire truck has arrived to watch the preparations. "Tim was a father figure to us boys," Mr. Barnhouse recalls. "He was a local guy who shared in all the community enthusiasms. His shop was always open to offer advice or order parts for drivers."

Dave has duplicated these two prints. In one, the Chevy is the "star." In the other, the "Ford" is. "Even the strongest Chevy or the toughest Ford can get stuck in the mud on a rain-soaked country road. But how humbling to get a tow from the rival brand truck. On this evening the challenge is to take the help along with the good natured barbs: 'You should'a bought a truck like mine' or 'You get what you pay for!' In the long run each owner will accept the help offered, no matter how hard it is to take."

The geese enjoying the rain while dad stands by his John Deere tractor in the shed wondering when the rain will quit. What a wet damp cold evening.
